7de Laan Starlife Full Story

“7de Laan” is a South African TV soap opera created by Danie Odendaal and produced by Danie Odendaal Produksies. The show is based in the fictional Seventh Avenue, or “7de Laan,” in the suburb of Hillside, Johannesburg. This is where all the characters either reside or work.

The storyline of “7de Laan” revolves around the vibrant community living in Hillside. It centers on their interactions with one another, the spread of gossip, the love and laughter shared among family and friends, and the ongoing rivalry between Hilda and Matrone.

Within “7de Laan,” you’ll find the Oppiekoffie Coffee Shop, managed by Charmaine Beukes, which is a popular spot for coffee, scones, and a bit of gossip.

There’s also the Deli, run by Hilda, who enjoys experimenting with different food combinations, even if no one particularly enjoys them. Hilda’s nemesis is Netta Nortje, the Matron of the Old-aged Home, always on the lookout for quick profits, often with disastrous consequences.

The boutique is managed by Inge, with Felicity assisting by designing clothing for the boutique and running her business, Felicity Fashions.

The Hillside Times offices are owned by Neville Meintjies, with two young journalists, Mandla and Paula, in constant competition to secure front-page stories.

In Hillside, you’ll also find the Boekwinkel, a bookshop owned by the renowned Afrikaans writer Ryno Lategan, managed by his wife Emma, who writes short stories inspired by Oom Oubaas’ entertaining tales from the past.

The Theron and Terreblanche Sportshop is owned by high society lady Madel Terreblanche and managed by her son Jan-Hendrik and her nephew Carlos Perestrelo.

Lastly, the Events Management Company, Kyriakis De Lange, owned by George Kyriakis, takes care of major events in the Laan, with the assistance of Altus and Dezi.

In the Laan, appearances can be deceiving. As the residents go about their daily lives, they often remain unaware of lurking danger or shady individuals waiting to prey on the unsuspecting inhabitants of Hillside.
