María Clara González, portrayed by Diana Hoyos, is the head nurse at Santa Rosa, one of the city’s most renowned hospitals. Despite her seemingly good life, trouble brews in her marriage with Román, and they have two children together. To rekindle their love, María Clara books a hotel room for a romantic anniversary celebration. However, their plans take a drastic turn when Román has a heart attack, and María Clara rushes him to the emergency room.
She stays by his side through the night, but the next day, a woman named Paula arrives with her son, claiming that Román is the child’s father. This shocking revelation shatters María Clara’s trust in her husband, and she starts considering a divorce.
In the midst of these tumultuous events, a young internal medicine resident, Dr. Carlos Pérez, portrayed by Sebastián Carvajal, joins the hospital. He and María Clara develop a unique connection that goes beyond friendship. However, their relationship faces numerous obstacles, particularly when Carlos’s wife Maritza and his father Valeriano discover their affair.
The drama escalates as María Clara contends with her boss, Gloria, her children’s resistance to her new love, and the hospital’s turbulent affairs overseen by Manuel Castro, the scientific director. And if that weren’t enough, a new person enters Dr. Pérez’s life, leading to unexpected twists in their lives.
